Three new features to tell you about today:

1. Self-service e-mail retargeting

Every marketer knows e-mail is one of the most effective ways to reach customers.  But what about those customers who read your marketing e-mails but don’t click through and convert?  What if you could retarget them with ads to bring them to your site to make a purchase or learn more?

Starting today, Perfect Audience customers can create an “e-mail” retargeting list that gives them an image pixel they can add to their e-mail templates and e-mail signatures.  When a user opens an e-mail with a Perfect Audience pixel in it, they will be cookied and available for retargeting in your campaigns.

Creating your first e-mail retargeting list takes just seconds.  We’ve been testing this with a few dozen customers over the last month and they’re seeing strong click rates and conversions aplenty from this new method.

2. Duration settings for retargeting lists

You might be retargeting your lost customers with the right ad, but are you retargeting them at the right time?  You can now set a “duration” to all your retargeting lists so you can reach your users when you want to reach them.

For example, you might create a new list of “All Visitors” to your site with a 30-day duration.  Targeting this list means you will never retarget someone who hasn’t visited your site within 30 days.

You can combine duration settings with exclusion lists to great effect.  For instance, you might want to reach those 30-day visitors, but only if they haven’t made a purchase in 7 days.  With the new duration setting, you can create a list that captures users who make a purchase, set a 7 day duration, then exclude that list from the campaign.  This new campaign will reach users who visited wihtin 30 days but haven’t triggered a conversion in 7.

3. Conversion Attribution Reporting

We’ll be doing a lot more work on this in the future, but in your “Manage” -> “Conversion Goals” page, you can now see a list of all the latest conversions including several useful pieces of information: What ad was clicked or viewed, when that click or view happened, when the conversion happened, the conversion orderID or the conversion revenue value.

With this data, you can see exactly who’s converting from your campaigns and how.  You can compare this information against your own first-party data and use it to make smarter decisions with your marketing and ad campaigns.
