Ever have a retargeting campaign start tanking, and you wished you could remember the old settings?

Ever wish you knew if another member of your Perfect Audience team had edited a campaign or not?

Ever see a spike in campaign performance and wonder if it happened right after an edit you made yesterday?

These problems are all solved today with the launch of Campaign Changelogs, a memory system for your retargeting campaigns.

Starting today, all Perfect Audience campaigns have a new “Changelog” tab that displays a running log of every edit made to them.  These changes track who performed the edit, when it was made, as well as the actual details of the edit.

Here’s an example from a dummy campaign I edited this morning:

Each edit tells you:

  1. When the edit was made
  2. Who made it
  3. What they changed in the campaign (so you can reproduce it if you want)

With Campaign Changelogs, your campaigns develop an important new ability: memory.  From now on, you’ll never have to guess what ads were in the campaign “that one week when it performed really well”, and you’ll never have to ask your team if someone got around to updating the targeting on a specific campaign.  You can go right to the Changelog tab, see for yourself, and retrace your steps easily.

This is a big step forward for making retargeting a more collaborative experience.  Since the launch of Perfect Audience Teams a few weeks ago, hundreds of customers have invited colleagues to come help edit their campaign.  With many sets of hands touching your marketing, it’s important to know what’s going on!

Changelog data traces back to February 1, 2013, when we started work on the feature. It’s been a long time coming but we hope you find it useful for optimizing your campaigns and collaborating on your marketing with your teams.

To access the changelogs for any campaign, just click the campaign’s name from your dashboard or the Campaign Manager page.  Then select the “Changelogs” tab.
